An Oxygen Concentrator for BPC

Project Goals

For €1,600, we can donate one oxygen concentrator to the Bairo Pite Clinic. It helps Tuberculosis patients breath in oxygen when their lungs are affected by the disease. Timor-Leste has one of the highest rates of TB patients in South East Asia.

Project Location

East Timor, Oceania

Project Details

An oxygen concentrator is a device which concentrates the oxygen from the ambient air to supply an oxygen enriched gas mixture via a mask.

Timor-Leste has one of the highest rates of patients with Tuberculosis (TB) in South East Asia. Often, this disease affects the lungs, and therefore the ability to breath in oxygen. So for example, the oxygen concentrator helps patients while they are waiting for antibiotics to work, but there are also many other instances where an oxygen concentrator will save someone's life, making the availability of an oxygen concentrator one of the key needs of the Clinic.
