Gegen Unterdrückung im Namen der Ehre

HEROES was founded in 2007 in Berlin. It is a project for equality, in which young men from "honor cultures" advocate against oppression in the name of honor, and for equal rights and equality between women and men. Their focus is on the problematization of the role men play in the context of honor oppression of girls and women. The goal is to give boys and young men the opportunity to distance themselves from these power structures. Heroes believe in a society in which every human being - regardless of gender and cultural background - has equal opportunities and rights. "We are not a movement against values, religion or culture. We are committed to a multi-faceted, open and equal coexistence. We have the courage to question the status quo, talk with peers about critical issues and represent our opinions"
