Project Goals

The SZ project "Student Lunch" provides children in Munich and the region a free hot meal at school and in childcare facilities. Many pupils from low-income families miss lunch at school as their parents aren't able to pay for the arising costs: €60 or more a month.

While at lunchtime, some kids enjoy their beef or a big portion of pasta, others avoid the cafeteria carefully: hungry children whose parents' money is tight must wait outside. The poor are excluded from lunch, but also excluded from the afternoon care, for which participating in lunch is a prerequisite. This is why the SZ launched its campaign "student lunch": it provides children in Munich and the region a free hot meal at school and in childcare facilities. Many pupils from low-income families miss lunch at school as their parents aren't able to pay for the arising costs: €60 or more a month.
