Find out more about Linas Vaitonis
Linas, where are you from and where do you live now?
I was born and raised in Vilnius, Lithuania. I still live in it's medieval old town, which is very inspiring.
How would you describe your artistic style?
It’s just my take on the world, my life happening around me. I think I could describe my work as retro avant-garde.
What's on top of your bucket list (as an artist or just as a person)?
To exhibit on the moon would be great.
Vector or watercolor
I prefer the softer look of film, but I work in digital for practical reasons. Though a great story is a great story.
New York or remote mountain hut?
Why not both? It's very healthy to run away sometimes.
Becks or Merlot?
I would prefer Becks at the moment.
And a little Proust: What is your idea of perfect happiness?
It's really difficult to say.
Which living person do you most admire?
I try not to admire people too much, though I enjoy watching artists like David Shrigley, Ryan McGinley, Justin Benzel, Alex Turner, Alex Prager, Neil Krug, Julian Hibbard, Terry Richardson, Noah Kalina, Daniel Sannwald, Martin Parr, Juergen Teller.
What do you consider the most overrated virtue?
To be humble.
What or who is the greatest love of your life?
That's an easy one - my fiancé.
If you were to die and come back as a person or a thing, what would it be?
For each art print you buy, Linas Vaitonis and Photocircle plant trees in Ethiopia.
