Training for pharmacy employees in Uganda

Project Goals

With € 1000, we can fund a three-day training course for twelve pharmacy employees on the ground to teach them the correct use of medication.

Project Location

Uganda, Africa

Project Details

Pharmaciens sans Frontières Germany (PSF Germany) collaborates with Apotheker helfen (AH) and the local partner Emesco Development Foundation (EDF) to improve access to medicines in rural Kibaale District, Uganda. EDF runs six health facilities in this region.

Pharmacy workers are trained in warehouse management to establish pharmaceutical expertise. The training includes proper stock organization, storage conditions, quality assurance of medicines and quantification of medicine needs. This is to assure that patients can be treated with their needed and safe medication and will not be sent back home with empty hands.

In order to be more independent from suppliers in the capital city Kampala, we are also establishing a medical store for Kibaale. All projects are visited regularly by PSF and AH to monitor the project progress.
