Renate, where are you from and where do you live now?
I spent my first years in Linz/Donau (Upper Austria) and am now living in Vienna.
How would you describe your artistic style?
My pictures are snapshots of life and reality around the globe, never arranged or redesigned.
What's on top of your bucket list (as an artist or just as a person)?
On top of my list is travelling to the most interesting parts of the world, to learn more about people, cultures, landscapes and architecture.
Analogue or digital?
Digital, since 2007.
New York or remote mountain hut?
New York and remote mountain hut. I love contrasts.
Becks or Merlot?
Merlot – or perhaps Malbec.
And a little Proust: What is your idea of perfect happiness?
Perfect happiness is to live in harmony, awareness and respect.
Which living person do you most admire?
Pope Francis.
What do you consider the most overrated virtue?
Thriftiness.
What or who is the greatest love of your life?
My husband and my children.
If you were to die and come back as a person or a thing, what would it be?
I do not want to come back as anybody else. I'm happy with my own life.
