Regis Boileau was born in France in 1971. He studied Fine Arts, first in Montpellier then at Sorbonnes University in Paris. After finishing two Masters in Cinema, he worked at the Museum of Modern Art (Centre Pompidou) in Paris, as assistant manager of the movie collection. Then he went abroad, working as a freelance photographer for ten years, and visiting more than 30 countries. With the expansion of the stock photography market, he decided to work for magazines and based himself in Kathmandu, then Bangkok and Hongkong. The third and most recent change in his career came about in 2007: from then onwards, he has been working exclusively for the fine art market, exhibiting his work from Portland to Zurich or London. In 2013, he received the Golden Camera for Best Professional Photographer in Architecture. In the same year, he was awarded for his professional work on the urban landscape in India by the World Photography Organization. He currently lives in New York.
